Mr. Kramer used different and distinctive woods in each of the paneled rooms and often made matching furniture. For example, Mrs. Darby’s office is paneled in curly and birdseye maple and her desk is made from the same combination of woods, while the guest room is paneled in pine. Mr. Kramer also carved the primitive headboard used there. His unique pieces, some carved, some plain, are seen throughout the house.
