date. Nick Raiford, Alex Sharp, Ben Hahn and Will Miller each made outstanding defensive plays, but it was the plays that did not have to be made that thrilled me the most. We were backing each other up on throws and hitting cut-off men. This led the Warrenton base runners to be hesitant to advance. Then our pitchers shut them down.
I am proud of the effort that this team has shown over the season. We are a young team and out biggest enemy has been our own confidence. The Rappahannock team is composed of nine 7-9 year old boys and one 10 year old. We are playing in a league where the average team has 14 players that are mostly 9 and 10 year olds.
We have two remaining games before the tournament. Both games are at Stuart Field in Amissville, on Oct. 12 and Oct. 19. Both games begin at noon. Please feel free to come out and show your support for this fine team.
