really close, that is, close in the since that we shared or did things of this nature together. She was a little older than myself and was off into life before I graduated from high school.

Both of us had spread the word of our intended trip, but had only one taker, Sally Keyser of Old Hollow, who incidentally had never met Linda. Linda and I met at our rendezvous point at 8:30 a.m. and picked up Sally in the Hollow at a little past 9 o'clock. Going up Pickeral Ridge road there was a lot of congenial conversation and then Linda began reminiscing about her former trip up, trying to recall things she’d remembered then. One of those things was the Pullen place (i.e., Romie Pullen). We first went to the cemetery there. What a surprise! in April there was some growth but now, the graves were so over grown we had to part the bushes and weeds to see a marker. I'm thinking to myself. I'm really embaraced, of all the descendants of the folks buried here, not a soul had been her to keep clean their final resting places, appearing to have totally been forgotten.

We left the Pullen place and drove
