A fire in the early morning hours of Feb. 26 destroyed a home off Route 621 in Woodville. Kim Bonser, who was renting the house managed to get out in time.
Bonser woke up to see the house in flames and managed to get out of the house and seek assistance from neighbors, since he didn’t have a phone.
Units from Sperryville Volunteer Fire Department and Sperryville Volunteer Rescue Squad responded along with the Washington and Castleton Volunteer Fire Departments and the Salem Volunteer Fire Department from Culpeper County.
Richie Burke of SVFD said the house was “fully involved” when the units arrived.
