Troth was born Oct. 9, 1929 in Washington, D.C., the son of the late Frank Edward and Addie Resh Troth.

He was a retired Lt. Col. with the U.S. Air Force after 26 years of service having served in the Vietnam Conflict and peace time. He was employed with the SRC Corporation as an Engineer. Graduate of the University of Albuquerque and a member of the Alexandria American Legion.

He is survived by his wife Brenda J. Troth of Front Royal; a son Michael A. Troth of Davidson, N.C.; a daughter Tracey T. Brown of Westerville, Ohio; two stepsons Wayne Foster of Huntly and Gregory Foster of Madison; a step-daughter Melissa Pullen of Front Royal; a sister Nancy Schurbert of Akron, Ohio; seven grandchildren Paul, Dan, Jake, Tom, Frank, Katy, Jo, and Grace and three step-grandchildren Ashley, Emily and Rebecca
