When was the last time you attended an auction? For me, it was Saturday evening at Bill Payne’s Auction here in Amissville. Randy and .Kady tagged along for one reason, the food which is delicious and inexpensive. I enjoyed looking over the items to be auctioned, listening to the bidding, and watching Bill’s wife keep him in line. The whole Payne family are involved from managing the kitchen, to processing the tickets, to showing the articles. It really is a neat way to pass the afternoon; however, if your hand springs in the air on its own accord, you may want to bring a truck!

On behalf of the Girl Scouts, a special thank you to everyone who supported their cookie drive this year by ordering cookies in advance or purchasing from the cookie booths. Our cookies didn’t make it to the freezer again this year.
