Park, attended the meeting to introduce himself to the board and offered a kind of open door policy to the county to keep up communication between the park and the county.

He reported on the damage the recent ice storm did to the park. Crews are working to clear the roads on Skyline Drive which have 30 to 60 trees down over each mile of roadway, he said. They hope to have the clearing done by March 22.

Coufity Administrator John McCarthy advised Morris of the newly created county “gateway project” for Sperryville. Morris said he was aware of it, is all for it and is planning to attend the next meeting of the Sperryville Gateway Project Committee this month. Francis Payne was named as the final member of the committee and Bayard Catron was named as alternate member.

McCarthy reported to the board that the county may get its E 911 service as Culpeper County’s Board of Supervisors was considering forfeiting its call back feature on E 911 so Rappahannock can switch over to the system. The switch would prevent the call back feature from working but the problem has held this county back from coming onto the system. The Culpeper BOS was to vote on that decision this
