The Black Vulture occurs only in the southeastern states, down through Texas and into Mexico. They do not migrate and maintain a resident status where they occur.
It’s a rare day when I do not see a vulture float across the sky. If there were none, how empty would be the sky. Maybe more important, the world would be a stinky and a much more unhealthy place. I give vultures their due and admire them as lords of the air.
