Students: Be vigilant when you are around other kids. Student leaders need to assume responsibility for others as well as for themselves. Listen to each other carefully for signs of trouble, or sick, cruel or angry behavior. Reassure your friends that there are adults who care about them and can help them. Every child or teen in this county has at least one responsible, caring adult to whom he or she can confide their troubles, be it a parent, grandparent, older sibling, other relative; or minister, Scout leader, social worker or neighbor; or school counselor, Dare police officer, teacher, sports coach or principal.
