Monday June 15 through June 19 is Vacation Bible School week at the Washington Baptist Church from 9 a.m. until 12 each day sponsored by Washington Baptist and Trinity Episcopal Churches. The theme this year is “On the Farm Growing with God” for children ages two through fifth grade. Donations of refreshments and help is needed. Contact Gretchen Long at 987-9044 for information. ; The Rappahannock County High School Band consisting of 37 students left by a chartered bus with six chaperones on Wednesday, May 27 for Disney World in Orlando, Fla. They competed in a band competition and placed first in their division and second overall. They brought home a beautiful trophy. The group returned home Monday, June 1.
Amanda Brown, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Bobby Brown and Lucy Burnham their exchange student from Australia were among the hand group. Amanda plays drums and Lucy plays the saxophone. I hear a great time was had by all.
