On Sunday, May 31, the Wakefield Country Day School in Huntly held its 1998 commencement exercises. Following the graduation ceremonies, the school also dedicated the Clydetta and William E. Lynn Memorial Garden and “Patty’s Playground," established in memory of Patricia Lynn Shaw.

Valedictorian Lindsay Alexandra , Knight of Washington, salutatorian Niall Patrick O’Donnell, Stephens City, and two international students, Yukiko Okada from Japan, and Alvaro Valle Ruiz from Spain received diplomas.

Knight, an all-around outstanding student and athlete, received the school’s prestigious Advanced Scientific Diploma, cum laude. She thanked the school community for “helping me grow both academically and spiritually . ..Each of my teachers has a
