As did the entire cast, Inglis does an outstanding job of interpreting the poetic Elizabethan speech in a manner that makes us follow along easily and (actually) grasp (almost) all of it!
Prospero’s main means of bewitchment is Ariel, a Tinkerbell-like “sprite” who reads thoughts, puts people to sleep with magic dust, and substitutes dreams for reality. Emily Simms plays Ariel with pixie-ish charm and cat-like movements. She’s in perfect sync with her master Prospero, for, if she does his bidding well, she will be set free.
Simm’s feathery and flamboyant costumes are the inventive work of Jean Falk who, as have the many folks and organizations credited in the program, has been a valuable resource for RCHS drama over the years in this rich arts community of ours.
