Sperryville carnival underway
The Sperryville Volunteer Fire Department’s annual carnival is underway. Tonight, Wednesday, June 3 is kiddie ride night for only $6; Thursday, June 4 the parade will be held at 7 p.m.; Friday, June 5 ride all night for only $8 and the awarding of the grand prizes will be held on Saturday, June 6. There will be fun, rides, games and food for the entire family.
Burke reunion planned
The families of the late Charles Lewis and Bessie Burke will hold their annual reunion at the Rappahannock Park on Sunday, June 14. All relatives, family and friends are invited to attend. Lunch will be served at approximately 12:30 p.m. The point of contact is Abe Burke at 987-8604
Open house for camp program
Open House at Belle Meade Day Camp for campers and parents ( former, prospective, current) will be held Sunday, June 7 from 2 to 4 p.m. Camp sessions this summer are June 15-26, June 29-July 10, July 13-24, July 27Aug. 7 and Aug. 10-21. Camp program includes swimming, excursions to rivers and mountains, informal sports, nature hikes, arts and crafts. Farm Show scheduled
The Culpeper-Madison-Rappahannock Farm Show will be held July 23-27 at the Culpeper Agricultural Enterprises in Culpeper. Farm Show catalogs are available at the Rappahannock Extension Office and at Rappahannock County Elementary and High Schools. This year’s catalog cover was designed by Devin Day of Rappahannock County. Call the Extension Office for more information about the Farm Show at 675-3619.
Nethers reunion scheduled
All Nethers and relatives are invited to a reunion at noon on July 12 at Nethers Mill Lighthouse Tabernacle (across from Methodist Church) in Nethers. Bring a covered dish and drink. Utensils will be provided. Call Thelma Coppedge at 923-4546 for additional information.
Gateway meeting planned

Dance for seniors slated
The Sperryville Ladies Auxiliary is sponsoring a dance for high school seniors on Thursday, June 11 at the Sperryville fire hall.
