Supervisors look at possibility
of instituting food and lodgings tax
With an eye toward finding other sources of revenue for the county’s budget the Board of Supervisors briefly discussed the idea of a food and lodgings tax at this month’s meeting. They will have it on next month’s agenda and examine the idea of putting on a referendum eventually. It sounds like a workable idea for helping fund the many projects looming in the county’s future, such as ' the upcoming high school expansion. The town has such a tax and it generates about $130,000 per year in revenue. Attend the supervisors meetings or call your supervisor and let him know what you think or what suggestions you may have toward helping find way$ to fund future county budgets.
