Adolescence is full of troubling issues for our children. We must expect kids at times to be volatile and unpredictable, as they try on various behaviors and attitudes while struggling with the changing biochemistry and anatomy of their bodies. And well-meaning families sometimes entrust hunting weapons to these children, supervising their safe hobby use. Perhaps the child even takes a gun safety course, and is always responsible when he or she hunts with friends or family.

But enter the home of another child, maybe a friend the parents don’t know well yet, or maybe a younger child impressed by the gun knowledge of the responsible teen. Enter the disturbed child
