Use early morning or late afternoon light - it has warmth and texture. For scenic photos, pick out something in the foreground, an old tree, a cow, fence, or brook, to balance the back-: ground of a series of hills or a sunset. Use fog, rain, snow, and mists. Perfect weather scenery photos are usually dull. If you have a zoom lens or a good telephoto lens, take candid shots of people of maybe even portraits. Older people show the lines of a lifetime. Portraits of youth show innocence, or an “I-know-all-theanswef s-tolife” expression, or any gradation in between. The eyes are the most evocative.
