The Salem Christmas Singing and Pickin party will be held Friday, Dec. 10 at the Salem Fire Hall, Route 522 beginning at 7 p.m. and continuing until 10 p.m. J. The fire department will be selling food and beverages. You are invited to dress up in your “Christmas Best”, come and sing the great Christmas carols together.
In celebration of Christmas the Novum Baptist Church will be having a special praise service this Sunday, Dec. 12 beginning at 11 a.m. Special music will be provided and the public is invited.
Mrs. Ray Frazier was a Friday afternoon caller of her mother, Mrs. Eunice Meade on Hash Lane.
The Castleton Fire Department sponsors shooting matches each Friday evening at 7 p.m. and residents are asked to support this endeavor of the department.

Sympathy is extended to Mrs. Lucille Releford, upon the loss of her brother, Mr. James Haywood Jenkins of Fredericksburg, who passed away at a Fredericksburg Nursing Home. Burial was at Stonewall Memory Garden on Sunday.
John Lillis of Fredericksburg was a Monday guest of Mr. and Mrs. Ray Frazier and family on Turkey Ridge Road. Mrs. Alvin Atkins of Sperryville was a Saturday caller of the Fraziers and Sunday afternoon visited her niece, Miss Brenda Frazier and mother in Culpeper. Brenda’s mother had returned home from a weeks stay in Culpeper Memorial Hospital.
Mr. and Mrs. Johnny Bragg, Kellie, Karla, Matthew and Mark and Mrs. Joe Peregory joined by Mr. and Mrs. James Gheen of Maurertown and Mr. and Mrs. Bill Peregory of Front Royal motored to Manassas on Saturday to attend a birthday party honoring Tom Hugill.
