the colorfulness of the paintings, ceramics, paper works and fabric creations made a cheerful spectacle, but the warmth of the colors and feelings expressed will cheer all who come, even on what must follow-cold, dreary days.
Gazing into Noriko Hoge’s bowl called “Migration” is a heart-stimulating experience - the brilliant blue and green glaze recreates the ocean.
Bruce Bundell’s black and white silver print, “Snow Gulls” is an intriguing abstract arrangement of birds one can study with pleasure indefinitely.
Nina Moore’s hand made paper pictures are more lyrical than ever.
All nature lovers will be thankful for Tracy Brown’s August Haze”, a pastel of four round hay bales in a field before a wood, and Tucker Hill’s monotype of “Route 652 Madison Co., 4:30 p.m.”. Surely, it isn’t the familiarity of these scenes that makes them lovable. Hill’s picture especially reveals the special technique that monotypes involve.
Chris Stephens has outdone himself with an electric oil painting of the hills and fields of Warren County, and a pastel and water color painting divided into six squares showing a variety of light effects, focusing on one wide landscape. No description can explain this unusual composition. Two other small paintings of Stephen’s, pastel over acrylic, show softer light on hazier scenes of great imagination in their color combinations.
The riches of this show can only be discovered by seeing it on several occasions.
