Attorneys for the Rappahannock Ski Area say a petition for bankruptcy will be submitted today to U.S. District Court in Charlottesville. Although the ski area will be closed for this season, Winchester attorney Jim Largent of the firm, Largent, Anderson and Larrick, said Ski Area’s directors hope to reopen next year. In a “Butchering Time” photograph Charles Brooks and Ernest Fincham were butchering near Flint Hill for Mrs. Voigt of Huntly. With Thanksgiving past and temperatures falling the butchering season is upon us and thoughts turn to delicious pork chops, scrapple and sausage. The spring fund crusade of the Rappahannock Unit, American Cancer Society was the main item on the agenda of Tuesday’s meeting held at the courthouse in Washington. The crusade goal for 1975 is $2300 according to Mrs. Robert Anderson, president of the local chapter.
