• RCES is in the process of inviting artists from the community to participate in our Visiting Artist program. We encourage performance and visual artists to volunteer just one day (or 1/2 day) per year to share their art form with our young students. If you are passionate about your craft and would like to share that excitement with others, please call Mrs. Harriette Rosenblatt, RCES Art teacher, or Jan Makela, at 9878259.
• Many thanks to all of you who supported the recent jewelry and poinsettia fund raisers sponsored by the RCES PTO and Seventh Grade. If you have not yet collected yours, please call PTO president, Mr. Jimmy Swindler, at 987-8597, to make the necessary arrangements.
• It is with mixed emotions that we say farewell to RCES Second Grade teacher, Mr. John Glass, who will be serving with the National Guard in Bosnia from December of this year until November 2000. Though we are very proud of him for making this incredible sacrifice, our school community will surely miss him. Mr. Glass will be leaving behind his wife and five young children as he goes abroad to serve our country. Please take a moment to stop in and see him when you are in the building.
