Services Board to meet

The Rappahannock-Rapidan Community Services Board will hold its regular monthly meeting on Tuesday, Dec. 14 at.1 p.m. at Airlie Conference Center in Warrenton. Blood drive scheduled

The Fauquier Chapter/American Red Cross will sponsor a blood drive from 3 to 7 p.m. at the Washington fire hall on Monday, Dec. 20. For more information call 347-2550.

Band Boosters to meet

The Rappahannock Band Boosters will meet Thursday, Dec. 16 at 7:30 p.m. at the Rappahannock High School. Everyone is invited. For more information call 937-9909.

Ragged Mountain activities

Ragged Mountain Resource Center in Sperryville is sponsoring the following activities and more information may be obtained by calling the center at 987-3366.

Saturday, Dec. 11: Second Saturday Hike Series, final hike of the year. Destination: White Oak Canyon/Hawksbill/Cedar Run trail loop. Meet at Mountainside Market on U.S. 211 west of Sperryville between 8-8:30 a.m., return late afternoon. This hike will be quite long, so it is recommended that participants be in fairly good shape. Hike leader: Hunt Harris, 987-3366.

Wednesday, Dec. 22: Winter Solstice Moonlight Hike of Old Rag Mountain, meet at Mountainside Market on U.S. 211 west of Sperryville between 4-4:30 p.m., return ?. Bring food for self, layered clothing and a small flashlight in case of cloud cover. This is a strenuous hike under somewhat tricky conditions, so inexperienced hikers are not encouraged to participate. Hike leader: Hunt Harris, 987-3366.

Elementary Band to perform

The Rappahannock County Elementary School Fifth Grade Band will perform their debut concert for the general public at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 21 at RCES. Everyone is invited. For more information call John Wiese at 937-9909.
