The 22nd annual Fodderstack 10K Race is set for Saturday, April 15. There are 153 preregistered runners, 82 females and 71 males.
Rappahannock families are well represented, Quita Parrish’s entourage being the largest contingent with Chris and daughters, Amelia and Lena, Philip, Merrill (Parrish) Strange and Lily and Alexander, Carol Parrish and children, Elyse and Jules and Lolly Parrish Heyward and son, Dan.
Also returning are the Russo, Hobson and the Proper families with six-year old Elizabeth Proper being the youngest.
Susannah McNear Barnes is returning, anticipating taking home her fourth Eva Smith Memorial Trophy, (97, 98 and 99).
Nancy Secrist, who has only missed several of the races is returning this year. Diane Bruce is heading up the courthouse group of Frances Foster and Cindy Robinson.
Random drawings will be held during the awards ceremony with gift certificates from Rae’s Place & Deli, The Flint Hill Public House, Middleton Inn, 4 & 20 Blackbirds, The Country Cafe, Pare Finds and Glassworks Gallery. All participants are eligible.
Registration opens at 8:30 a.m. on Saturday at the Flint Hill carnival grounds. Biis transportation will be provided from Washington to registration. The race starts at 10 a.m. at the warehouse at the north end of Flint Hill.
The awards ceremony should take place on the courthouse lawn around noon.
