Easter egg hunt planned
A free Easter egg hunt for children up to 12 years of age will be held on Saturday, April 22 at 11 a.m. at the Washington Volunteer Fire and Rescue station. Each child will receive a candy basket.
Auction at Amissville
The Amissville Volunteer Fire and Rescue Company will be holding an auction on Saturday, May 6 at 6 p.m. at the fire hall. For donation pickup call J.B. Carter Jr. at 937-4218, Paul Poling at 937-5205 or Donna Hickerson at 937-3004.
Rabies clinic scheduled
A rabies clinic will be held Saturday, April 22 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Rappahannock Animal Welfare League Shelter located at the county landfill. Cost is $10 per shot and all proceeds benefit RAWL. Staff will be on hand to assist anyone interested in adopting a new pet, there are a lot of great dogs to meet. Egg hunt at Sperryville
The Sperryville Fire Department Auxiliary will be having their third annual Easter egg hunt on Saturday, April 22 from 1 to 3 p.m. at the fire department. There will be games, story time, snacks for the children and pictures with the Easter bunny. Cost is $5 per child.
Pantry program in county
A Super Pantry Program sponsored through a partnership between Rappahannock Cooperative Extension and Blue Ridge Food Bank Network will be conducted at the Hope Hill Baptist Church in Castleton. The program will begin on April 26 and continue through May 31. The sessions will be conducted on Thursdays from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
Participants will receive nutrition education, tips on stretching the food dollar, hands on cooking skills, lunch, and a bag of groceries each week. Volunteers are needed for a variety of tasks such as transporting the groceries, teaching cooking skills and child care. For more information, contact the Rappahannock Extension Office at 675-3619.
Lions Club preparing for auction
The Rappahannock County Lions are preparing for their annual auction. This year the event will be held on Saturday, May 13 at 6 p.m. at the Washington Fire Hall.
