mittee had given an in-depth report to the full committee on sprawl and Rappahannock County at the Tuesday meeting.
Other items on the Tuesday evening agenda included passage of the committee’s first ever budget, information on two very generous gifts from anonymous donors. One gift will be used to cover the annual fees for the committee’s web site (soon to be online); the other to be available for long needed items such as “Rappahannock Democrats” banners and a tent for festivals and fund raising. ' Chairperson Meredith Gorfein expressed hope that both banner and canopy would be available for the May 20 “Relay for Life” for which the Democrats will field a team. Kate Gagnon also reported that the first trash pickup of the Democrats’ adopted section of the highway would be Saturday, April 8. Reports now have it that a small but determined cadre of committee members fought off black snakes and rabbits to ensure an always beautiful Rappahannock County.
