The Mayor’s proposal to reinvestigate the problem and its solution was met with general support from the audience, and from the Piedmont Environmental Council’s (PEC) new Rappahannock office staffer, Deborah Hicks. She noted that her office was contacted by a town resident and that PEC developed a response based upon a preliminary review “by a hydrogeologist and a specialist in finance.” As a result of this preliminary review, she said, “there is no clearly identified need to establish a centralized system,” and she offered PEC’s assistance in developing “a more acceptable solution.”
Mayor Willis threw his support to PEC involvement, and suggested that committee member Tbmpkins meet with PEC to “get an answer.”
