Too often we hear only the negative, what’s wrong, what’s
missing, within our local communities. After attending the Wakefield Country Day School Auction 2000, it is obvious that there is a lot that is wonderful and right with the world!
On Friday, March 31 at the Fauquier Springs Country Club, we held our auction. The response and support from our parents and our community was completely overwhelming.
The evening was delightful from the start of the Silent Auction, through the delicious dinner, until the last item on the Live Auction, a dashing pair of pink flamingos, was sold! Our auctioneer, Jimmy Eustace, donated his time for the live auction, and his humor and expertise was instrumental in making the evening such a successful one.
Local residents Tom and Lorraine Espinola graciously provided live music throughout the evening, joining the many other local artists and artisans, including WCDS parents, who donated their original works and services. All in all more than 200 items were donated and auctioned, most of them from local businesses and services!
