Directly on the heels of his successful exhibition at Gallery K in Washington, D.C., the Middle Street Gallery is proud to announce a show of new oil paintings by Rappahannock artist Steven Kenny.

Viewers familiar with Mr. Kenny’s earlier work will find portraits and still lifes rendered in the artist’s trademark surreal style, yet there are some obvious differences in these recent paintings. Larger canvases, a darker palette, more attention to light and dark, and a looser application of paint all combine to create drama and emphasize mood.
