> New Superintendent Robert Estabrook, his wife Virginia 1 and their two-year-old daughter Diane were featured in a lead J photo. Mr. Estabrook will take over the top slot in the coun‘ ty’s public school system on July 1.
A 12-mile bike-a-thon was held Sunday to benefit St. Jude’s Cancer Research Center in Memphis, Tenn. Area bicyclists rode from Flint Hill to Washington and back again to collect pledges for the children’s research hospital.
. Jean Lillard, president of the Flint Hill Ladies Auxiliary presented the fire company treasurer, Emory Russell a check for $4000 on behalf of the auxiliary. The presentation was made Saturday evening at the annual firemen’s banquet given by the Ladies Auxiliary. A large group of fire, rescue and auxiliary personnel plus friends and guests attended the event.
