uncontrollable—Club Getaway
Dance proves otherwise
Teens have long been perceived as being rebellious, untrustworthy, threatening, bad, malicious, and better ignored than confronted. Bah! From the zoot-suiters of the Forties and the 'greasers of the Fifties to the hip-hoppers of the Nineties—they aren’t bad, they’re just us in a different costume. We’ve all been there, had kids or grandchildren there, and we will be seeing new teens all of our lives. What a blessing. Rappahannock Bazaar’s Club Getaway dance at the Washington Fire Hall last Friday proved that these kids are not only the greatest, but that they are to be trusted, to be loved, and to be the beneficiaries of whatever positive we can do for them. Rappahannock Bazaar will soon open Club Getaway’s temporary home in the former Black Kettle ' Restaurant in Washington. Thanks to David and Maggie Cole of Sunnyside Farms, they’ll have a place this year instead of next. Why not do as the Coles did and help out a bit— send them that old pool table or some furniture or a bit of your time, and give this club a great start.
