Three workshops on writing your life story are being offered by Ki Theatre this summer in Washington. They are taught by Julie Portman, an Obie award winning writer and performer whose most recent play, Three Roses, will be broadcast on WCVE Television, an affiliate of National Public Broadcasting.

Each summer Portman, who lives in Rappahannock County, offers workshops called Creating Your Autobiography. People in all walks of life attend - therapists, writers, nonwriters, teachers, artists, retirees, government employees. “You don’t need to consider yourself a writer or a storyteller to enjoy the workshop and get lots out of it.”

This summer Portman is offering three workshops: Complete Autobiography Workshop over two consecutive weekends on June 8, 9, 10 and June 15, 16 and 17; an Introductory Workshop on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, June 22, 23 and 24; and an Advanced Workshop for people who have previously enrolled in Portman’s workshops on Friday, Saturday and Sunday; July 27, 28 and 29. Enrollment for each workshop is limited to 12 participants.
