The Salem Fire Hall was practically filled on Friday evening for the “Singing and Pickin” party, one of the featured performers being Mr. John Triplett, who at 85, continues to “pick away” on his banjo. Also, Mrs. Effie Foster was honored with a birthday song and cake, Friday being her day.
Condolences are extended to Mrs. Dottie Settle and family upon the loss of her brother, Rice Hitt Jr., 81, years of age who passed away on Wednesday at his residence.
