How long have you been a carpenter?
I started doing carpentry when I was fourteen years old, so that would be twenty-six years. Now, I started my first business when I was sixteen.
I’ve been self-employed off and on since then. I had a small business in high school, another in college. When I got out of college I worked for two different builders for three and a half years, then I traveled for a year, and in 1987 I started my own general contracting business and built some truly handcrafted log homes and timber frame homes, along with restoration and expansion projects on several nice, hundred-plus year old houses- among other projects.
I notice the bright shiny copper roof. Why did you choose that?
