RLEP board to

meet Monday

The Rappahannock League for Environmental Protection board of directors will meet at the County Library on Monday, Dec. 17.

The business meeting begins at 7:30 p.m. to be followed by discussion of the recently approved cellular service system; update on the land application of sewage sludge ordinance which will be heard by the Board of Supervisors at its January meeting; and discussion on the pending lighting ordinance.

Also on the agenda will be discussions of programs planned for 2002 on environmental education and information. The meeting is open to the public.

Holiday Band

concert planned

The Holiday Band Concert featuring students in fifth through twelfth grades will be held in the RCHS auditorium on Thursday, Dec. 13 at 7 p.m. The public is invited to attend.

Soccer League

currently accepting

spring registrations

The Rappahannock Soccer League is currently accepting 2002 spring soccer registrations. They are available at the Rappahannock Library and the Washington Post Office Kiosk.

Fees are $35 for first player and $20 for each additional family member. Some scholarships available. Volunteers are needed for Cbaching arid an adult referee. Call the Registrar, Laura Dodd at 5472968 for more information. The final day to register is Feb. 15, 2002.

County holiday

The county government offices will close on Monday, Dec. 24 and remain closed on Christmas Day. The offices will also be closed on Monday, Dec. 31 and remain closed on New Year’s Day.
