Masonic services were held Monday, Dec. 10 at the Royston Funeral Home in Marshall. Burial will be at a later date.

Mr. Allison was born Aug. 9, 1918 in Ballston, son of the late John Thomas and Elizabeth G. Flynn Allison.

He was a Marine Corps veteran of World War II, serving in Europe, Asiatic Pacific and Saipan. He was a self-employed contractor.

He was the husband of the late Elizabeth Allison.

Survivors include one daughter, Mary Ellen Shultz of Conroe, Texas; a son, C.W. Allison Jr. of Amissville; two sisters, Sheila McCuin of Herndon and Catherine Lynn Boronda of Escondido, Calif.; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Alvin Alsberry Sr.

Born in Flint Hill

Alvin Eugene Alsberry Sr., 66, of Compton, Calif, died Friday, Dec. 7 at his residence.

Funeral services were conducted Saturday, Dec. 8 at South Los Angeles, Calif. Mortuary by the Rev. Robert Taylor.

Burial was in Englewood Park Cemetery in Los Angeles. A memorial service will be held Dec. 29 at 1:30 p.m. at Macedonia Baptist Church in Flint Hill.

Mr. Alsberry was born July 22, 1935 in Flint Hill, a son of Roberta B. Adams Alsberry of Strasburg and the late Jordan Alsberry Sr.

He was a Marine.Corps veteran of the Korean War and owner of Horizon Trucking Company.

In addition to his mother, other survivors include his wife, Johnnie Enge Alsberry; two sons, Alvin E. Alsberry Jr. of Los Angeles and Larry Hughes of Philadelphia; a daughter, Lisa Whitney of Los Angeles and seven grandchildren.

Other survivors include three brothers, Johnny Alsberry of Richmond, Jordan Alsberry Jr. and Leonard Alsberry, both of Strasburg and six sisters, Rochella Strother, Marion Strother and Audrey Dyer, all of Strasburg, Angela Alsberry of Virginia Beach, Priscilla Terry and Kathy Temple, both of Charlotte, N.C.
