serving was led by Rachel Gall's 100 percent average for the night and Danielle North's seven service points. Dani Sicardi also contributed significantly with a kill and a perfect defensive performance.
The team is on the road again on Monday and Wednesday, with a re-match against Lurav and then at Clarke, then home on Friday, Dec. 14 against Madison.
Wrestling
The Panther grapplers have come out of the gate charging in their second season under Head Coach Jim Wells. Their First match pitted them against another secondyear program — the team from Stonewall Jackson High School.
The match was held here at the RCHS gym on Saturday, Dec. 1, and drew an enthusiastic home crowd of new grappling fans. They weren’t disappointed as the JV squad won 8 of 11 contests with the JV grapplers from Stonewall.
First-year sophomore Tommie Voorhies had two pins of the eight victories and his freshman brother, Cory, had another. The varsity was not quite as dominating, but easily won the match by the score of 57 to 24.
Saturday, Dec. 8 saw the Varsity Wrestling team travel to Potomac Falls High School for a quad match with three double “AA” teams from Loudoun County. The second year Rapp wrestlers were up to the task as they Finished second in the meet, defeating the Loudoun County HS and Loudoun Valley HS teams. They were beaten by the meet champions, Potomac Falls, but they acquitted themselves well.
At the end of the match, Coach Wells was extremely pleased with the performance of his chargers and was looking forward to the year ahead with great enthusiasm.
