Donkey missing
A four-month-old donkey was reported missing from a property on Viewtown Road on Nov. 19. According to the complainant, ten of the animals have been stolen from her property at different times over the past two years. The investigation continues. Suspicious incidents
After the latest incident involving a suspicious person in the neighborhood, Sheriff Sherertz has advised residents of Battle Mountain Road west of Amissville to be on “heightened alert.”
On Dec. 9 at about 12:35 p.m., a boy walking his dog noticed a black sports utility vehicle at the end of his family’s driveway.
The driver left the scene after the boy approached, but then returned to the area after the boy went back to his house.
“There have been twm Peeping Toms in the area, and a prowler reported nearby on Seven ponds Road on Nov. 16” said Sherertz. “In that incident, a couple was at home at around 11:30 p.m., when they noticed the shadow of a man on their front window.”
The witnesses could provide no description of the prowler or of any vehicle that may have been used in the incident.
