In his investigation of the most recent calls, Rappahannock Sheriff Larry Sherertz contacted the Virginia State Police, who advised him that while they occasionally participate in special fund raising efforts, they have no charitable solicitations underway at the present time.
Sign stolen
An antique sign formerly situated on the porch of the Appetite Repair Shop restaurant in Sperryville has been reported missing, according to the Rappahannock County Sheriff’s office.
The sign, which is four feet high and three feet wide and has “Quaker State Oil” on one side and “Appetite Repair Shop” on the other, was taken sometime between 4 p.m. on Dec. 5 and 7 a.m. on Dec. 6.
The sign is valued at $300. Vandalism reported
A loader parked on Richmond Road near Amissville received about $1,000 in damage when vandals smashed the windows of the piece of heavy equipment with rocks.
The incident occurred on Dec.2, and was reported to the Sheriff’s Office the following day. Dep. Mark Currence is the investigating officer.
