October Ethel Phillips, who was born and raised in Amissville, celebrated her 105th birthday in Vernon, Conn. Mrs. Phillips’ old home is now the Atkins Farm on US 211. Her friend, Erma Tolbert Lawson sent her birthday wishes along with, Mildred and Tom Atkins, Hal and Beverly Hunter and Catherine Riley.
