Williams, 73, of Chester Gap died Saturday, Dec. 8 at Warren Memorial Hospital in Front Royal.
He was born on April 10, 1928 to the late Earnest Williams and Nettie Williams.
Mr. Williams was a lifelong resident of Chester Gap and a lifetime member of the Chester Gap Volunteer Fire Department.
Mr. Williams and his wife, Ethel operated the Williams’ Grocery for many years.
He retired from Potomac Edison in the late 1980’s after 37 and one-half years of service as an electrical mechanic.
Survivors include his wife of 48 years, Ethel Dulin Williams; one son, Glenn A. Williams and his wife, Kelly of Front Royal; two daughters, Dianne Ricker and her husband Kevin of Chester Gap and Cindy Derflinger and her husband, Amos of Front Royal; two brothers, David Williams of Front Royal and Albert Williams of Chester Gap and six grandchildren.
Funeral services were conducted on Wednesday, Dec. 12 at TurnerRobertshaw Funeral Home Chapel in Front Royal with the Rev. Greg Amos officiating. Interment followed in the Williams’ family cemetery.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased bv a son, Ricky Williams; a granddaughter, Jenny Williams; two sisters, Dorcas Kuser and Phyllis Morris and three brothers, Wilmer Williams, John Williams and Rufus Williams.
