• “Volunteer Capital of Virginia!” It has a nice ring to it, doesn’t it?!? We are in the midst of collecting data from all volunteers and volunteer organizations in Rappahannock. If you run errands for an elderly person, if you belong to a community association, if you volunteer at the historical society, or as a 4H group leader, if you coach a soccer or baseball team, please call me at 987-8259, or e-mail me ;at makrapp20002001@yahooico m to share that information. We are extremely proud of our public school volunteers and would like to recognize them in a very special way this year. (That is how this idea was conceived. )
If we are able to achieve the designation “Volunteer Capital of Virginia”, it will be a tribute not only to our school volunteers but to the hard work and generosity of all of our citizens in Rappahannock. Thank you for helping.
• Have fun and try to enjoy the days leading up to the holidays! The lights, the sounds, the smells are all part of the experience. Too often we are so busy making preparations that we don’t get to enjoy the simple pleasures all around us! Let’s take a cue from our children, and try to enjoy every moment!
