The Town Council wishes to extend an invitation to residents and persons who work in the Town of Washington to attend the Town of Washington Christmas party on Sunday, Dec. 16. It will begin with a potluck dinner at the Town Hall at 5 p.m. Immediately following will be the lighting ceremony of the Christmas tree in front of the courthouse at about 7 p.m. v Anyone wishing to participate is welcome to bring a wrapped gift to be donated to Social Services. For additional information or to RSVP call the Town office at 675-3128.

• Friday, Dec. 21 Rappahannock Public Schools close for the holidays.
