Henry B. Lillard of Rapidan was honored on his 80th birthday Sunday, Feb. 13 with a party given at his home by his daughters, Mrs. Paul Poling of Amissville and Mrs. William Crossman of Rapidan. Fifty friends and relatives joined to wish him much happiness.

Parts of the county got five inches of snow over the weekend. Schools were closed for two days.
Circuit Court Judge W. Shore Robertson has nrtmed four county residents to the Equalization Board which will hear appeals arising out of the Board of Assessors recent reassessment. Named to the Equalization Board: Henry Hudson, Eileen M. Day, John W. Ralph and E. Franklin Warner. Their terms run through Dec. 31.
The Rappahannock County Library and Cabin Fever Books in Washington have joined in a cooperative effort to bring new books, especially children’s books to the new library. Cabin Fever is offering a 20 percent discount on volumes purchased for donation to the library. The program, begun the first week of February, has already brought a good response.
