Sprint financial woes, and a ' question was raised about the time that Sprint has under their permit to construct the towers. No one had the answer, and it will be investigated.
The Board discussed contributing to the Board of Supervisors to help fund the sewage sludge lobbying effort. At their last meeting, the Board of Supervisors agreed to provide $2500 of the $5000 requested to aid in State Delegate Orrock s effort to pass a bill allowing localities to regulate the land application of sewage sludge, if RLEP or other conservation organization would contribute the remainder.
RLEP President Lander had, at that time, suggested that his organization might agree to . fund the balance. After additional discussion on the most appropriate means to make the contribution, the RLEP Board voted unanimously to do so.
There was additional discussion on RLEP’s work on the County Comprehensive Plan, its schedule for completion, and means of dissemination to the Planning Commission, and a discussion of the Hazel River Tier 3 designation and the best means of providing the public and the Board of Supervisors with factual information on the benefits of such a designation.
The Board also discussed the recently advertised solicitation for a realtor to handle the marketing and sale of the Aileen Plant, and RLEP members agreed to establish a committee to investigate the rationale and process by which the property was acquired by the County, and to encourage the County to develop restrictions on the sale and use of the property.
