Many ot our Adult Ed students are not affiliated with our public schools in any other way. The Adult Education Program has given us an opportunity to welcome visitors to our schools and introduce them to the many things we have to offer.
• As a convenience to parents and student athletes, high schools sports physicals have been scheduled at RCHS on Tuesday, June 4, from 3:205:30. Volunteers who care about our athletic program are requested to volunteer to help with this program. We especially need volunteers who are nurses, doctors, EMTs or otherwise have expertise in the medical field. Please think about helping and call Nurse Margaret Wiese at 987-8575 or Volunteer Coordinator Jan Makela at 987-8259.
• Many thanks to RCES Volunteer Angela Stout for typing, collating and assembling materials, that were produced by our staff on the recent staff training days, into books for use at all levels. This was a huge task and all staff members, as well as students, will benefit from this effort.
• At the RCHS PAC meeting last Wednesday, parents chorused the united concern that Rappahannock does not offer a county-funded Recreation Program.
The schools have the facilities, and try to ‘pick up the slack’ where these programs are needed, but there simply is not sufficient funding or manpower within the school system to fully meet the recreational needs of our citizens. This is simply informational, but may encourage others interested in
