Civil War

Days

slated

Plans are underway for the fourth annual Sperryville Civil War Days, which will be held this year on Saturday and Sunday, Sept. 21-22.

The event, which is held in the historic village of Sperryville, is an annual commemoration of the years of the War Between the States, 1861-65.

Weekend events will include encampments by uniformed Civil War re-enactors, who will perform demonstrations and drills. Musicians will perform the music of the Civil War era. Authors of Civil War books will discuss and sign their books at the Old Sperryville Bookshop. A street fair along Main Street will feature vendors of Civil Warrelated items including art prints, relics and replicas, Tshirts and the like.

Vendors wishing to participate must reserve space before Sept. 1 by paying a $25 vending fee.

For information, call Jim Gannon at the Old Sperryville Bookshop at 987-8444, or send e-mail to bookchurch@earthlink.net.
