carpets is from the fleece of sheep, which herdsmen seasonally grazed at elevations over 10,000 feet. The high mountain climate and the genetic character of the sheep population creates a wool that is unique in it’s luster, fiber width, and lanolin. This is one of the prime reasons that Tibetan carpets have the beautiful quality for which they are famous.
