The Rappahannock Relay for Life is just a little more than a week away. The Relay for Life is on May 17 at the Rappahannock County Elementary School. Team registration begins at 5 p.m. on Friday and closing ceremonies are at 8 a.m. on Saturday. The Relay is an opportunity for everyone to pay tribute to their loved ones and friends who have had the disease and to help fight the disease that claims so many lives.

All cancer survivors are urged to attend and be honored. There is no registration fee for cancer survivors. This year survivors will be honored at the “Survivors” tent in front of the grandstand where refreshments will be served at the tent site from 6 to 7 p.m. Look for the purple balloons. Opening ceremonies will include special guests and music as well as special recognition for cancer survivors before the Relay begins.
