Shenandoah

The Rappahannock Chapter of Children of the Shenandoah will hold their third meeting on Saturday, May 11 at 2 p.m. at the Rappahannock Library. Nearly 50 people have joined or attended the first two meetings. At the last meeting plans for a Family Tract Project were announced.
A file will be established for each parcel of land taken to form the Shenandoah National Park. It is hoped that family members will provide copies of pictures of the homes, people and farms.
Family history outlines, stories, wills, deeds or bible records would make interesting contributions as well. This is an opportunity to make a public record of your family’s sacrifice. The files will be kept at the Rappahannock Historical Society which is open weekdays. They will be removed only for Children of Shenandoah meetings.
Wayne Baldwin will be speaking at the next meeting. Mr. Baldwin has spent many years researching the mountain family history. All are welcome.
