Beekeepers to meet

The Northern Piedmont Beekeepers Association will hold its May meeting at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, May 16 at the Culpeper Cooperative Extension Service building at the corner of Davis Street and South West Street, Culpeper. The program will feature Keith Tignor, Virginia State Apiarist who will speak on diseases, mites and treatment. Everyone is welcome. For further information contact Kevin Lunsford at 439-0743.

Cookbook to be published

The Sperryville Volunteer Fire Department Auxiliary is putting together a community cookbook. Anyone who would like to submit a favorite recipe to the included in the cookbook should mail the same to Diane Weakley at P.O. Box 127, Sperryville, Va. 22740 or Bonnie Turley at P.O. Box 409, Sperryville, Va. 22740. The proceeds from the cookbook will go to support the Sperryville Volunteer Fire Department Auxiliary.

Pickin ’party at Hackley s

A pickin’ party will be held at Hackley's Country Store on Saturday, May 25 from 1 to 4 p.m. Bring your lawn chairs, voices, instruments and plan to have a good time. For more information call 937-5373.

Rappahannock County 4-H members will be selling tickets for a 50/50 raffle to raise money for the 4-H General Fund to use for 4-H programs.

Financial Mentor Training set

Become a Volunteer Financial Mentor and help community residents improve their financial future. Mentors are trained to assist individuals and families set and reach personal financial goals, reduce debt, live within their income, gain self-reliance, and much more. Training will be held in the Culpeper County Extension Office at 101 South West Street in Culpeper on Wednesday afternoons from May 22 to June 19 and is open to residents of all surrounding counties. Toddlei'workshop planned

If toddlers have you wondering if you will make it through this stage, then the upcoming workshop from Virginia Cooperative Extension may be of interest. Participants in Toddlers: Terrible or Terrific? will learn about toddler's behavior, wha: to expect and what not to expect.

The workshop is being presented via satellite by Penn State Cooperative Extension on Thursday, May 9 from 7 to 9 p.m. and is for child care providers and interested, parents Call 540-7273435, extension 0, to register. Clinic will be open May 15

The Rappahannock Free Clinic, a local operation of the Fauquier Free Clinic Inc., is currently open on the first, third and fifth Wednesdays of each month. The clinic will be open Wednesday, May 1 and not again until May 29.

Support group to meet

Hospice of the Rapidan offers free bereavement support groups to anyone who has suffered the loss of a loved one. with or without prior Hospice affiliation. The discussion group now forming will meet on Monday evenings for six weeks, beginning June 3 from 7 to 8:30 p.m. in the Hospice of the Rapidan Community room.
