On Saturday, May 11 at 8 p.m., at Rappahannock High School, you have an unique opportunity to see a local performance of Julie Portman's remarkable one woman play, Three Roses, which premiered here two years ago, has since been performed all over the country, and was recently broadcast on Public Television under the direction of Academy Award winner Paul Wagner.
The May 11 performance of Three Roses is co-sponsored by the Rappahannock Association for the Arts and the Community and the Curriculum Enrichment Program which supports Rappahannock County schools.
This compelling and inspiring play, set to a musical score composed and performed by Julie’s husband Paul Reisler, tells the true stories of three remarkable women, each of whom has survived unspeakable acts of violence, and each of whom has been able to transform her experience into forces of courage, healing and hope.
